Make a Donation

Two organizations, The Friends of the Canby Public Library and the Canby Public Library Foundation, provide supplemental funding for the Library by accepting donations. As both of these are 501(c)(3) organizations, they are able to provide receipts for tax purposes. The Library itself does not accept any non-monetary gifts. Financial donations made directly to the Library go to the City’s General Fund, not specifically to the Library.

About Us

Canby Public Library is a department of the City of Canby and member of the Libraries in Clackamas County (LINCC) consortium. When the library opened its Holly Street location in the late 1980’s, the library circulated about 77,000 items annually. Four decades later, we now circulate much more...both physical and digital items! In addition, we have over 1,000 youth participants in the summer reading program, and thousands more attend various programs, visit exhibits, use the internet and computers, and take advantage of the spacious and welcoming facility.

Child Safety

11.1 UNATTENDED CHILDREN

The Canby Public Library is dedicated to providing a welcoming environment that encourages children to visit the library, attend programs, and use the library collections and computers.   However, the Canby Public Library does not assume responsibility for a child’s safety and supervision.

Collection Development & Materials Selection

8.1 PHILOSOPHY

To support the mission of the Canby Public Library, library materials are selected for the interest, information, and enlightenment of all people in the Canby community. The Canby Public Library Board adopts this materials selection policy to guide librarians and to inform the public about the principles upon which selections are made. While a policy cannot replace the judgment of librarians, stating goals and indicating boundaries will help steer the selection process.
