During library open hours, you can visit in person to fill out an application and show photo ID and proof of address. There’s no charge for a library card for residents of our service area and certain other areas, including:

Clackamas County (except Johnson City)
Multnomah County
Washington County
Hood River County
Clark County (Washington)
Klickitat County (Washington)
Skamania County (Washington)
City of Camas (Washington)

Attend a Program

Canby Public Library offers a variety of free programs for kids, teens and adults. Most programs are available on a drop-in basis, and seating is first-come, first-served.

Pre-registration may be required for certain programs.

If a program is held outside, it will either be in the plaza between the Civic Building and Canby Cinema, or at the gazebo in Wait Park, map below. 

Access the Library of Things

Canby Public Library is proud to provide access to a special collection: the Library of Things (LoT). These items include non-traditional equipment (such as outdoor gear, hobby and recreational hardware, and STEM educational products, among other things). This collection was funded by a grant from the Clackamas County Office of Sustainability and Solid Waste.

Clackamas County

Canby Historical Society: Housed in Canby's historic railroad depot, the Canby Historical Society gathers and preserves information and materials relating to local history.

Clackamas County Historical Society: Based in Oregon City, CCHS collects, preserves and interprets the history of Clackamas County.

Genealogy

Online resources for genealogical research can be found here. The library also carries print books of historical significance in the Oregon Heritage Collection, located on the back wall.
