Neighborhood Associations

What is a Neighborhood Association?

Neighborhood associations are formally recognized organizations which offer an opportunity for citizens to address the issues that impact their neighborhood.

Participation is voluntary and open to all citizens who live or own property within its boundaries.

Neighborhood associations are inclusive, reflecting the diversity which enriches a community. Members include families, singles, retired people, business owners, faith-based organizations, schools, homeowners, and renters.

Most neighborhood associations are concerned with issues that affect the quality of life in their community. This can include issues such as zoning regulations, crime prevention, sidewalks, litter and parks. Neighborhood associations can also strengthen person-to-person contact by sponsoring neighborhood festivals and block parties.

Canby has four neighborhood Associations - Riverside, Northeast, Southwest and Southeast.
