Special Animal Permit Application

Prior to completing the online form below, please complete the Affected Neighbor(s) Signature form: 

  1. Print the Affected Neighbor(s) Signature form shown below. 
  2. Complete the form and collect signatures as needed. 
  3. Scan or take a photo of the completed form. 
  4. Upload the scanned image or photo at the end of the online form.

Applicant Information
An application for Special Permit Animals is required for keeping certain non-domestic animals in the Canby city limits. Approval from neighbors sharing applicant's property line is required. Please note: Roosters are not permitted within the Canby city limits. A one-time application fee of $10.00 is required prior to processing. Approval is contingent upon neighbor(s) consent.

The following must be received by the City of Canby prior to the requested approval of keeping certain non-domestic animals in the Canby city limits:

A completed Special Animal Permit Application to include: 

  • A completed Affected Neighbor Signature form, including the names, addresses, and signatures of all affected neighbors (all neighbors sharing your property lines). 
  • A completed online Special Animal Permit Application. 
  • A one-time $10.00 permit application fee for keeping certain non-domestic animals. 

The permit, once approved, has no expiration; however, the permit will be immediately revoked if the City receives complaints related to noise, sanitation or other conditions. 

Upon receipt of your completed application, the City Administrator will review your request. You will be notified of their decision. If you have questions, please feel free to contact the City of Canby Administration office.
