Significance: Constructed as a Public Works Administration (PWA) project in the midst of the Great Depression, its distinctive design has made it a community icon. At a national level, the PWA recognized it as an ideal example of design serving function. From a historical perspective, the City Hall served as the focal point of municipal governance from 1937 to 2016.
